Apvienotās Karalistes vietējās vēlēšanas: Kā sekot līdzi kā profesionālim
2 a.m.
Labour party strategists are aiming to take over the position of Avon and Somerset police commissioner from the Conservative party and are also looking to make advancements in the North East Lincolnshire area, where former Labour MP Melanie Onn is running in the general election. The Liberal Democrats are downplaying their chances of winning Portsmouth, despite only needing four more seats. The Hart district is seeing a three-way competition between the Conservatives, Liberal Democrats, and a longstanding community group.
3 a.m.
The Labour party is vying for control in the Harlow and Redditch regions, both currently under Conservative rule but with narrow majorities and all seats available. Labour is also hopeful for progress in the Thurrock area, which has a history of switching between red and blue, has faced financial difficulties, and is increasing council tax by 8 percent. Stockport and Hull present rare battles between the Liberal Democrats and Labour. It’s worth noting whether Reform UK will make headway in Lincoln, which has been predominantly red for the past forty years.
4 a.m.
The result of the Blackpool South by-election is expected to be announced between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Labour’s Chris Webb is hopeful to reclaim the seat, which has been historically red but turned blue in 2019, after the previous representative was removed due to gambling issues. However, Labour campaigners are concerned about a potentially low voter turnout, which is a common issue in Blackpool (56.8 percent in 2019). Reform UK has suggested they might secure second place. They are also focusing on the Labour-controlled Plymouth council, contesting in 17 out of 19 seats.
5 a.m. onwards
The announcement of results slows down until midday, at which point political parties begin their spin campaigns. The Liberal Democrats are hopeful to consolidate their power over the Conservatives in Winchester, which is one of their key seats for the general election.
